My Personality

I am completely impressed with the results of this test. It has led me to better understand that path I need and will take when choosing my career. I was confused at first. The uncertainty of not knowing wheter i had chosen a career that fitted all my skills and needs was killing me. now I feel both confident and happy thanks to the eye-opening information provided by this test.
Well, based on the results of the test, in the future I will have to make changes in my educational life since, according to the test, I am currently majoring in a career that does not meet my personal expectations.

According to the test, my personality falls under the category of "Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging" (ESPJ). I am completely agree with the test's results since it assigns ESPJ individuals skill that I do have. Now I understand why I behave in certain ways. Falling under ESPJ category indicates that I have the capacity to solve problems without difficulty. Also ESPJ people are hardworking, always full of energy and passion to accomplish our goals.

Additionally, I learned that ESPJ people are caretakers. This is one characteristic of ESPJ's that also fits my personality. I am caretaker, always paying attention to the needs of others, especially my loved ones. Even at my workplace I am always cooperative with the people who surround me. I do not help them with money, but they often times come to me when they need assistance while performing their duties. I feel comfortable when I make others happy.

Even when initially doubted that this test was going to help me resolve my career dilemma, I took it. Both the test results and the information in chapter 2 have helped me understand why it is so important not to make mistakes when choosing a field of study.

Againg, chapter 2 is very helpul. It has helped me get rid of certain doubts that I used to have with regards to my career. Also, after reading the stories of students who ended up choosing careerss that did not fulfill their personal expectations, I said to myself: "Maria do not make the same mistake." Now I feel confident with this class, the results of the test and all the information in chapter 2 because I believe it will help me choose an education path will bring me personal fulfillment and financial security.

  1. Hello Maria
    I’m Wieslawa.
I have read your comments regarding chapter 2nd of Turning Points. Your career Decision-Making Guide. It’s nice to hear that the Holland’s system, to find your personality type regarding occupation choice, works for you. Unlike you I had had no doubt that my career choice was good for me but Holland’s system assured me of my good choice and I will concentrate my energy to develop it.

It’s very interesting that The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test is in a harmony with Holland’s system, since suggested by Myer-Briggs occupations fit to my personality type of Holland’s system, and my previous choice fit to that suggestions, too.

The conclusion is, that chapter 2nd is useful since it helped you to solved your career dilemma and assured me that I’m on proper path towards my career goal.

  2. Hello. This is Colin Pearce from class. I am also glad you found the Myers-Briggs to be accurate. After observing the criticisms presented by Mr. Beaufort, I am having my doubts. Do you feel that the test told you things you didn't already know? In my case it was enlightening as any reinforcement of self is. On the other hand, I am directly cognizant of my strengths and weaknesses. For me the test only affirms my choice of career. It seems that for you it actually changes your choice. I am interested to hear from you what you planned to do before versus what you plan to do now. Do you feel it is wise to rely on this one test to make that determination. How much do you think personality determines one's success in a particular field?
